Guess My Phone Number · a Mind Reading trick

I bet I can guess your phone number.

Actually, let's make that a phone number you just invented. Any ten-digit sequence — completely made up, zeros welcome. You'll need paper, a pen and a calculator.

Read-aloud isn't available in this browser. Everything stays on screen.

About this experience

Guess My Phone Number is a two-clue performance. You invent a ten-digit number, keep it on paper, and turn it into two calculator results. Those two results are enough to bring the whole number back.

It's a made-up number on purpose — this is a maths trick, not a way to collect contact details.

What you need

Paper, a pen and a calculator (your phone's is fine). Every calculation stays at six digits or fewer.

Your privacy

Keep your made-up number on paper, where we can't see it. Only enter the calculation results. Those results are used to reveal your number, not to collect contact information.

The two results you type stay in this browser tab. They aren't sent anywhere or saved, and they're cleared when you restart or leave the page.

Perform it for a friend

Performer Mode walks you through it line by line, with Guided, Assisted and Independent levels — and a Practice run with a made-up friend first.
